  The Service was held at the Merchant Navy Memorial on Mariners Green, Cardiff Road, Newport, NP20 2EB. and was well attended. This was followed by buffet lunch in the Royal British Legion Club. Photos are available on the PHOTOS page.

  Our Remembrance Service was held under the canopy of the Senedd Building on a glorious sunny Saturday 11th November 2023. Fr. Dean Atkins officiated and music was provided by the Symphonic Brass Cardiff. The event was well attended (although there were some empty seats and only 5 Standards Paraded).   The event was well attended and went very well. The weather was also kind to us. We were well represented with Dave Richards carrying our Standard and Des Farnham, Keith walker and Byron Jones in the congregation. Byron also planted a cross in the Merchant Navy Section to remember those lost when the S.S. Ramillies was sunk on 8th May...

• MERCHANT NAVY DAY, FLAG RAISING CEREMONY, CARDIFF - 4TH SEPTEMBER 2023

  The Annual Flag Raising ceremony was held in the Courtyard of the Mansion House, Cardiff at 1030 on Monday 4th September. Hosted in glorious sunshine by The Rt. Hon The Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Councillor Bablin Molik and organised by Paula and Crystal of the Protocol Office.

• MERCHANT NAVY DAY, BARRY - 2ND SEPTEMBER 2023

  Merchant Navy Day 2023 at Barry was held on Saturday 2nd September instead of the usual 3rd September. For the first time in its 23 years of being held, it received some media coverage in the form of HTV Wales Katie Lewis: a short clip and interviews were aired on Saturday evening news.

  On Sunday 16th July we attended the Sea Sunday Service organised by our Shipmates in Barry at the Anchor Memorial, Barry Dock. Also in support were two members from the Newport MNA.

  I regret to inform you that our very dear friend and shipmate, Brain Lansley, Crossed the Bar on 23rd March 2023 at the age of 86. His funeral was held on the 28th April at Portsmouth.
