NEW MEMBERS

The following new members were accepted into the Barry Branch of the Association during September 2023.

DOUGLAS ALBERT CHARLES PROCTOR, B.E.M.

Douglas, of Grangetown Cardiff, was at sea between 1966 and 1990 as an Assistant Purser. Ships he sailed in included the Edinburgh Castle, Silvers Shore, Bambugh Castle, Hermitrocus, Temple Inn, Port Caroline and various Geest boats. Decorations, awarded British Empire Medal.

COLIN ANTHONY UREN

Colin of Rumney, Cardiff, was at sea between March 1978 and February1990 in the Catering Department. His rank on leaving the Service was Chief Cook. One of the ships he sailed in as Galley Boy, was the M.V. Temple Inn, between March and December 1978.

JONATHAN TREVOR UREN

Jonathan of Rumney, Cardiff was at sea between August 1984 and December 1989 as a Steward in the Catering Department. He joined his first ship Geest Bay on 10th August 1984. He later served on the P & O ship Canberra as First Class Steward. His left his last ship, the R.F.A. Tidespring, in December 1989 where he was Officers Steward.
